Volunteer with Luminaria!

The Luminaria contemporary arts festival, now in its 9th year, presents astonishing new work by dancers, actors, poets, comedians, filmmakers, musicians, composers, and visual artists. From November 9-12, 2016 regional and international artists will honor San Antonio’s historic Eastside, and Luminaria is looking forward to continuing the legacy of community engagement with contemporary arts. As part of our free, innovative, and socially engaged outlook we are seeking volunteers from the San Antonio community.

These volunteers will be working directly with artists (in a variety of media) to realize their projects and/or interfacing with the public. This opportunity offers all creative people the chance to make connections with other artists, see how different art forms can be realized in public space, and interact with the broader San Antonio community.

Volunteers will be focused into two separate and important areas.

  • Information Ambassador Team:  These volunteers will be acting as the public face of Luminaria. This team will be introducing the public to Luminaria and directing them to food, music, and art. This team is defined by its friendly and informative nature.
  • Artistic Support Team: These volunteers that will be working directly supporting our artists and performers. These volunteers must have pervious experience working in the area that they will be supporting (for example painters may want to work with one of our many muralists).

Volunteers are needed for November 9th, 10th, and 11th across several locations, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved!

For more information, or to sign up to volunteer, please contact me by email.
