Happy National Voter Registration Day!

Today is National Voter Registration Day. (It’s also National Chocolate Milk Day – who creates these holidays?)

So…are you registered to vote? It’s easy to find out, and it’s the first step in sharing your voice. If you’re not, you need to fill out an application, and you can do that here. Then, you need to get that application in the mail no later than October 11th.

To recap:

  1. Check it.
  2. Fill it.
  3. Mail it by October 11th!

But it doesn’t stop there. In Bexar County, registration isn’t really our biggest problem…it’s turnout. In the 2012 Presidential election, 55% of registered voters actually voted. Registering to vote is merely the first step in the process. Showing up to vote is the next step.

Starting on October 24, you can vote. And you’ve got plenty of locations from which to choose.

In Bexar County, there is so much to consider. You can download the generic ballot here. Over the course of the next several weeks, we’ll be sharing more resources and more information. But today…we just hope you’ve registered. And…if you have…share it with us, using the national hashtag – #iRegistered – then our local hashtag – #VoteSA.
