SA2020 uses the yearly U.S. Census data (12 months of estimates) in its annual update in order to report and trend the data for this indicator. According to the annual data, 91% of San Antonians have access to a computer and broadband connection. SA2020's City Council Profiles show broadband connectivity by Council District using the 5-year Census data (60 months of estimates), which do not show the same level of progress as the annual data shown here.
This indicator measures whether a household has a computer and a broadband subscription. This indicator does not measure the ability to use or afford the technology, which are also critical pieces of digital inclusion. According to the Broadband Development Office (BDO), operated by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, the majority of San Antonio is served by broadband speeds where maxspeed is greater than or equal to 100/20 mbps.
Increase percentage of homes with computer and broadband internet connection to 100% (100% by 2030)

San Antonio
After 12 years of driving progress toward a shared community vision, SA2020, the nonprofit organization, is dissolving. We believe this is the most visionary thing we can do. We made this decision with the greatest care for our organizational values of leadership, community, and accountability, and we hope you’ll read more about it on our blog.
Our website is live with our final data release, showing where San Antonio stands on reaching the shared community vision. The data release is accompanied by our final call to action—a policy agenda for City government based on our unique bird’s-eye view of San Antonio.
While SA2020’s operations ended March 28, these resources, along with the last twelve years of our research and stories, will be available to download from our website through September 2024.
