Check out all of the San Antonio parks we’ve visited this year as part of our #SA2020Resolutions.
Was it the cold and gloomy day? Was it the KEEP OUT and Private Property signs on the fence lining the trail upon which we walked? Was it the grafitti sprayed across the nearby dam? Or maybe it was just the active imaginations of my kids who concocted outlandish tales of hideous trolls hiding in the brush nearby, waiting to pounce on us. Something made this park seem spookier than others we’ve visited. Our trek through Mud Creek Park, the 19th of 20 San Antonio parks we’re visiting this year, was definitely an adventure.
Blink your eyes and you’ll miss Mud Creek Park, located off of Jones Maltsberger Road, just west of Redland Road. I’d passed this park many times but the only things I noticed from the road were the tiny parking lot, some colorful tiles displayed around it, and a port-o-potty. The park itself wasn’t visible and remained a mystery to me until our visit.
