Help Shape Your Community During The Big Give 2018

The Big Give, South Central Texas’s 24-hour day of online giving, returns this Thursday, and we mean it when we say that your participation can help move the needle on the goals we set together. When you support a nonprofit organization (or two or three) working toward our shared vision, you can help create real solutions to San Antonio’s big-picture challenges. And The Big Give 2018 is an extra-easy and impactful way to give back.

When you support area nonprofits on Thursday (or, if you’re busy then, you can start today!), you’ll give these organizations a chance to earn even more funding through prizes and matching grants. And because The Big Give is all about individual donations, even a $10 contribution goes a long way. In a community that together prioritized philanthropic giving (but has seen it drop for the past several years), we should all get involved this Thursday.

There are more than 600 nonprofit organizations participating throughout 14 counties in our region, meaning we know you can find a few whose missions align with your own passions. You can search for an organization you already love, find new ones by cause area, or get started with SA2020 Partners—all of whom are working toward our shared goals and have the outcomes to prove it.

At SA2020, we’ll encourage you (as usual) to #Give2020: give $10 (or any amount) to SA2020 and then find an SA2020 Partner (or several) to donate the same amount. You’ll help SA2020 continue to report on community progress, engage the public, and align efforts—and you’ll help our Partners lead and implement those efforts. It’s a fantastic way to take action and create positive change in our community, all without getting up from your desk.

And while The Big Give is an online campaign, the best part is that the celebrations are out in the community. Tons of participants are hosting their own events on Thursday to get the word out and thank their supporters. This is a fabulous way to really get to know the organizations you’re supporting and better understand the impact of your gift. We’ll be celebrating #Give2020 at Rosella at the Rand from 4 pm – 10 pm on Thursday with SA2020 Partners, donors, and friends. We’d love to see you there! If you donate $10 or more to SA2020, you’ll receive happy hour prices all night, thanks to our friends at Rosella. Even better: your donation to SA2020 will be doubled on Thursday, thanks to a $2,000 matching grant from the very generous Chad Miller Auto Care!

When we work together toward common goals, positive community change happens. This Thursday, let’s double down on that work. We hope you’ll re-engage with an organization you love, find a new one to support, or help amplify an organization’s message. Let’s commit to the organizations driving progress in San Antonio and watch as our shared vision comes into focus.
