SA2020 Days of Giving

Celebrating Holidays and Nonprofits with ‘Days of Giving’

On #GivingTuesday, we celebrated philanthropy and encouraged San Antonians to #Give2020: give $20 to SA2020, and then find a SA2020 Partner organization that supports your passion and give them another $20.

And while we’re (obviously) huge advocates of giving funds to your favorite nonprofits, we also think the holidays are the perfect opportunity to celebrate volunteerism, too. To that end, SA2020 is kicking off “Days of Giving” on Tuesday, December 6th. We’ll volunteer for 9 days at 9 SA2020 Partners.

As the organization tasked with monitoring San Antonio’s progress, we know just how important local nonprofits and volunteers are to our community’s success. When thousands of community members got together to outline their vision for San Antonio, Civic Engagement was prioritized. And increasing volunteerism rates is one measure of success. Unfortunately, volunteerism rates in San Antonio continue to fall. SA2020 is doubling down in this area, and we’re committed to connecting more community members with their passions and opportunities to help nonprofits affect change in those spaces.

Our team, along with Board members and friends, will be volunteering with nine of our Partner organizations and helping out with everything from gardening to organizing. Along the way, we’ll share more about the organization’s work and our experiences. We hope you’ll follow along (we’ll be all over the place: #SA2020DaysofGiving).

We hope that you’ll use upcoming time off from work or school to volunteer with friends and family. In fact, we’ve made it super easy for you to find organizations that are moving the needle on our shared vision. Go here to see a list of our 145 Partners and narrow your search by your specific passions. You can even further narrow down your search by selecting the types of opportunities/events you’re looking for: Family Friendly, Group Friendly, For Teens, For Seniors, just to name a few.

Once your search is narrowed, you’ll be able to find out more about every organization that fits your passion and see how you can get involved. And, of course, if the holidays are keeping you too busy to volunteer, you can find handy links to donate.

Happy Days of Giving, San Antonio!
