Gladys Hernández

Gladys serves as SA2020’s Director of Community Impact. She works with a diverse network of multi-sector partners to identify opportunity and innovation within and across systems. By building collective impact and critical consciousness, she is committed to helping grow the community’s capacity and network of informed and engaged community members through learning resources, destinations, and programs that bridge and sustain relationships across industries. Growing up a first-generation college graduate, it is Gladys’ belief that all students deserve to learn, thrive, and grow. Gladys previously served as the Executive Director for Leadership SAISD where she inspired civically minded individuals to become advocates and leaders in the San Antonio education community. Through her previous work—including facilitating and leading a collective of 150 LSAISD Class Members through an analysis of the educational system and its progress as part of San Antonio’s shared Community Vision, supporting the LSAISD Alumni Network of 300+ graduates, coaching 200+ educators during her years at The DoSeum, and teaching in classrooms through Teach For America-San Antonio,—Gladys has witnessed the incredible power that all community members have. Gladys holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Masters in Business Administration from St. Mary’s University.
