San Antonio’s municipal election is set for Saturday, May 6th, with early voting between April 21st and May 2nd. These are important dates, but we’ve also got some other dates for you to mark on your calendars. Lots of great organizations are hosting events to help San Antonians get ready for the election—from voter registration drives to candidate forums. We put together a list of these events and groups, because while voting is the ultimate goal, the first steps are getting registered and getting informed!
The deadline to register to vote in the municipal election is April 6th! To register to vote in Texas, you need to fill out a registration application, print and sign it, and mail it in to your county elections department. You can get the application here, and find out more details about changing your information here (the deadline to update your address or name is also April 6th). If you need any help with the process, local organizations are hosting opportunities to do just that!
Thursday, April 6th
Voter registration deputies will be hanging out at La Botánica and The Squeezebox (both on N. St Mary’s) Thursday evening. They’ll help you register to vote, and you’ll get to enjoy some live music!
