If you don’t know the one week in San Antonio where we get to celebrate our city and its college-bound reputation, then we have the scoop for you! Destination College is a week of free events to celebrate our city as both a college town and a college-going town.
These events are filled with a tons of resources, exposure to local programs, and exciting activities designed to make college top-of-mind in San Antonio and connect students of all ages to opportunities to achieve their college dreams. The week also includes college pride dress days, where students, faculty, and the community show their spirit by dressing to the day’s theme (silly socks anyone?)! Whether you are attending an event or participating in the college pride days, you can join in on all the fun by posting your own photos to social media with the hashtag #CollegeWeekSA.
San Antonio is one of the top college destinations in Texas, with more than 150,000 students enrolled in a variety of colleges and universities. Research has shown that students who receive early exposure to college have a brighter outlook on their future education and are more likely to attend post-secondary schooling, which is crucial in today’s economy. That’s why Destination College exists, and that’s why it’s so awesome to see our community come together for a week to celebrate all of our efforts to make college top of mind.
