How UP Partnership impacts San Antonio's shared Community Vision

UP Partnership is helping Bexar County to become a place where voice, healing, and access are the norm for our children and youth, rather than isolation, punishment, and disconnection. Across our efforts, we are building a city and region where racial equity is made real through a common set of beliefs, policies, and practices. Through this work, we are actively pursuing our mission: to ensure that all young people in Bexar County are ready for the future. Scaling voice, healing, and access means that the adults, campuses, communities, and larger systems supporting young people: 1) listen to those they serve and incorporate their wisdom;2) respond to pain and behavioral illness with restorative, trauma-informed approaches;and 3) ensure that pathways to college and career are open to all. When realized, systemic racism will be reduced and young people's pathways will not be predetermined by race, ethnicity, income, or legal status.
