United Way addresses our community’s most complex issues through assuring kids have a safe and healthy start, students are staying in school and graduating, strengthening individuals and families, and providing safety net services such as shelter, clothing and emergency care. Their programs include childcare scholarships, emergency food and shelter, ReadyKidSA, Shoebox project, and more. United Way also offers a confidential, free 24/7 helpline (2-1-1), which has handled over 220,000 calls. United Way’s community reach extends to more than 570,000 individuals and $46,010,000 raised to support programs.
