For over 120 years, The Children's Shelter has provided evidence-based prevention and intervention practices designed to significantly impact children, families, and the community. The Children's Shelter provides foster care for children 0-18 and recruits, trains, and licenses foster and kinship homes. The Children's Shelter also offers trauma-sensitive mental health care for children/families; parenting education classes; RN home visits to first-time, low-income mothers; and skills and resources for men to become stronger fathers.
