How Project Transformation Rio Texas impacts San Antonio's shared Community Vision

Project Transformation (PT) Rio Texas is transforming communities by engaging children, college students and churches in purposeful relationships. PT works with young adults and children to ignite a lifelong love for literacy, service, leadership, and learning. Each year, college students lead literacy-focused summer camps for children in 1st-8th grade while living in intentional community and gaining leadership and professional skills. The program emphasizes relationship-building in a safe and nurturing environment, building the reading levels and social emotional skills of the children, while growing the leadership of the young adults. New relationships emerge: between a college student and child; an emerging reader and community volunteer, a church member and a church neighbor.
