How Musical Bridges Around the World impacts San Antonio's shared Community Vision
Musical Bridges Around the World (MBAW) brings people together through the arts, welcoming world class musicians to perform for the community-at-large, and leading educational outreach programs for K-12 students and seniors. Kids to Concerts focuses on presenting a fun, interactive experience in which children in grades kindergarten to 12th grade learn about a new culture and artistic tradition. Lessons are further provided to teachers that connect music and cultures celebrated in the performances to academic topics. In partnership with nursing homes and retirement centers, MBAW brings performance arts and opportunities for community-building to seniors. MBAW's free programming increases access to the arts, reaching 80,000 people every year, promotes cross-cultural understanding, and fosters creativity.
