How ImmSchools impacts San Antonio's shared Community Vision

In 2018, ImmSchools was co-founded by formerly undocumented educators. Through an intersectional and community-driven approach, ImmSchools envisions a just and equitable education system where immigrant and undocumented students and families thrive. To protect the rights of immigrant students and families, ImmSchools partners with schools to foster safe havens, empowers families as leaders and change agents, and advocates for immigrant friendly K-12 policies in school districts. This is done through monthly community workshops, leadership development curricula, and trusted community partnerships. Every aspect of ImmSchools work is informed, led, and envisioned by immigrant communities themselves. As of May 2020, across the nation, over 5,000 immigrant students and families have participated in their programs, and over 7,000 educators have received training to support undocumented students.
