City Year San Antonio

How City Year San Antonio impacts San Antonio's shared Community Vision

Last year our City Year AmeriCorps members served students in nine San Antonio schools using our Whole School, Whole Child model. Along the way, we measured our success and found: As of the third quarter this year, our corps members served 9,448 students and completed over 147,097 hours of service. In both Northeast Independent School District and San Antonio Independent School District, at least 48% of Math focus list students improved their scores by 1 point or more. All of our Principals agree that City Year AmeriCorps members serve as positive role models in their schools and that our program helps to improve students' active engagement in learning. Teachers see first hand the work that our corps members do daily and 98% of them agree or strongly agree that they provide essential academic supports that students wouldn't otherwise receive if they didn’t have City Years in their classrooms.
