How Brighton Center impacts San Antonio's shared Community Vision
Brighton was formed by parents in 1969 as a school for children with Down syndrome and has evolved to meet the needs of children with various disabilities/delays. Brighton Center is the largest non-profit provider of direct early intervention and educational services in San Antonio for children with disabilities and delays. Brighton increases developmental and educational outcomes by providing an early childhood preschool, therapy, counseling, case management, parent trainings and individualized support for around 3,300 children with disabilities/delays, focusing on birth to age 8, and their families. Brighton currently has 130 staff members.
Brighton achieved the city's 4-Star certification, National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation, 2017 Large Nonprofit of the Year by the San Antonio Business Journal and is consistently named a Best Place to Work. Last fiscal year, Brighton served 3,119 children, where 99% of children made developmental progress and 92% overall client satisfaction.
